The Pets

Hop-a-long and Lizzie

A most satisfying Sunday to cap off a mellow week. Darcy and I played as part of the church service today, and we received some nice comments from the congregation. Jane went to a baby shower for Erin's new son Cam with Connie and Andrea yesterday...they really enjoyed the visit and were glad that they didn't play any of those silly games!

Saturday

Tonight we will go to Stratford to see Fred Eaglesmith perform at the City Hall with Chris and Mary. Fred is a favourite singer/songwriter of ours, and he rocks!! Can't wait. Jane is painting the bathroom this morning, and the pets are behaving themselves. We have a lop-eared bunny visiting us for awhile from Gabriela's room-mate. Rabbits are kind of neat pets. They don't say much, but give off a good vibe.

Pray for Alan

Please pray for Alan Slater, who is off once again to Iraq with the Christian Peacemakers. He will be called a child of God. Men such as him are my role models.

Linda's 50th

What was this image discovered in a steam pan in a Florida restaurant??

Today is Linda's fiftieth birthday party at brother Bud's. We are having a bring yer own topping pizza party! Should be fun. It was a good week in here in Pleasant Valley, everyone content, thank you God. Chris and Mary are in Cuba this week, and promise to bring me home a cigar. I hope that they get a chance to hear some son music live. Ay los cubanos!

January Thaw

And we thought we would be skiing at Wildwood by now! Tomorrow it will reach 8 degrees. We took a trip to the Arva Flour Mill today and bought some flour for bread. Spelt flour is one of the ones we will try out. Had lunch at the amazing Rei de los Leios Portuguese restaurant. This unpretentious place has the best barbequed chicken in the area. Mmm! We visited with Gabriela, now back for her second semester at school, and took her grocery shopping. It was a good day.

New Year's Day

The Abandoned Dresden Plant

I would like to wish all of my fine-smelling readers a Happy New Year full of blessings! Every time New Year rolls around, I always get that song from U2 playing in my head. Today was a beautiful day, and I went for a walk with the digital camera to learn how to work it. I ended up at Lorne's house, and took a few photos there. Adam and Gabriela came over for supper, and ended up watching the Exorcist after. Scary. Jane and I are pumped about 2006, and expect really good things to happen!
