Another Well

It's still cold here in Canada, but the sun is definately getting stronger daily. We are building a shed up at the lake, one that we can sleep in and store our tools while we build the cottage. Jane is painting her mother's den, and getting fed home-made soups daily. The pets are happy. Gabriela is on spring break. We hope that all of you good-looking readers have a wonderful Lenten season, and thank God for all your blessings, especially the sacrifice made by his Son, Jesus Christ, on your behalf.

Snow Day

Jane at the Lake

Many people stayed home today because the roads were closed. I am fortunate to be able to work very close to home. We are snuggled up on the couch watching the Winter Olympics.

Anniversary Weekend

How will we get the wheelbarrow to the lake??

Well, Jane and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on Friday, and had fond memories of our wedding in 1979. It was -20 out and the DJ played Elvis' "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You". We drove to the airport at midnight in Mom's old Ford 500 and the darn car mis-fired all the way. The next day saw us winging it down to South America, for an extended Latin honeymoon. (sigh).

On Friday we went to see harmonica virtuoso Carlos del Junco in Stratford with Chris and Mary. The concert was great, and reminded us of our teenage years when we would sneak into Fryfogel's Inn in London to see such blues legends as Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy.

We finally got our building permit for the cottage and are preparing for the build. I have had a great time shopping for tools. We will try to post photos on the blog to show the progress.

St. Marys Children's Choir

The Cottage (not yet built)

Today the St. Marys Children's Choir performed at church as part of the service. We are truly blessed to have such a world class group using the church as their home base. Praise God! Andreas accompanied them on piano and organ...flawless and breathtaking. The snow has come back today for a visit - we almost forgot what it was like (it's white and cold). Jane and I are getting ready to build our dream cottage, complete with solar heat and power. We bought a pair of really cool steel-toed shoes for Jane on Friday night.
