Muy Chido!

Gabriela came home today for a short visit and we had chickenburgers for supper. It was good to see her. We received an email from Mom and Frank...they will be spending the winter at McGregor Point as campground hosts. Should be a great oportunidad to get in some frosty winter camping while we visit them! Our local police have had to devise a tighter parking pattern to save space on the street.

Joke of the day

The plans for the biofuel car are falling into place...Chris has saved two buckets of cooking oil from his restaurant...I have got all the little bugs ironed out of the Benz (replaced water pump, new brakes, fixed horns, changed oil, new air filter). I will keep you posted on how it works!!

A drunk gets up from the bar and heads for the bathroom. A few minutes later, a loud, blood curdling scream is heard from the bathroom. A few minutes after that, another loud scream reverberates through the bar.

The bartender goes into the bathroom to investigate why the drunk is screaming. "What's all the screaming about in there? You're scaring the customers!"

"I'm just sitting here on the toilet and every time I try to flush, something comes up and squeezes the heck out of my testicles."

With that, the bartender opens the door, looks in and says..."You idiot! You're sitting on the mop bucket!"

October Weekend

We went to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday party on Saturday at his place north of Mount Forest. Most of the family showed up, and we had a turkey dinner. Marlene planned a surprise tree-planting session in their field, and everyone contributed a sapling for their grove...it was a lot of fun! This is my Uncle Murray, a quiet fellow who travels a lot and lives the glamorous city life in Toronto.Cousin Brad was also there with one of his daughters, Jessica. Brad is a successful financial services dude with a cutting wit. He enjoys life to the fullest!!

Friday at Last!

As promised, a few fall photos. The colours are gorgeous right now! This is the St. Paul Loyola Church's graveyard in Mitchell, behind the Zoo where I have an interesting chat daily with a burrito named Francis.
The Wellington Terrace in Mitchell, one of the buildings I look after.
These trees are just south of Fullarton, at the conservation area.

Cool Runnings

Today was a cool day. I slept at the lake overnight in the van and the temp dipped to -2. The fall foliage was at it's peak today and what a display. Praise God. Work went well, it seemed to flow smoothly. Had lunch with Lorne downtown and enjoyed a good tete a tete. Helped Darcy move an organ and played the guitars. Lizzie, our cat, did not bite Jane or I once today. Today was a cool day.

Summer's over

It was another beautiful day today: crisp air and intense colours in the trees. I hope to carry the camera along to shoot some of these fall colours for this blog...meanwhile, I have a few photos here from the fantastic summer we just had! This first shot is an early morning mist near Zurich.
What could be tastier than shrimp on the hibachi at your campsite?
Here we have a view of Lake Huron near St. Joseph. Jane's brother, Bud has a lot near this beach and we were at a family barbeque there!!

We spent the day at the market in St. Jacobs yesterday. It was really a perfect fall day and the produce was wonderful to see...we came home loaded down with all kinds of fall fruits and vegetables!

segundo

This is our old 93 Mazda, a much loved truck that refused to break. We sold it because we were afraid of being killed in it by a large truck in the winter.

This is the car we replaced the Mazda with. We plan to run it on used cooking oil that we steal from behind Chinese Restaurants.

Here is our mean cat Lizzie trying to look sleepy... she is a little crazy and will bite your ankle if she is bitchy.
