Hallowe'en

One of Gabriela's childhood Hallowe'ens!

Another cold wet sleet-filled rainy day and I'm staying put in this warm computer room at the convent. I've been reading some random blogs written by our American cousins, and I must say they're pretty pissed off about the state of affairs in their country right now. How did it get this far? My theory is that they've (the masses) have been provided with a life of luxury and comfort while the crazy bald-heads pursue their ideal of perpetual war. Uh-huh. Let's open our eyes.

Rain

Lizzie dreaming of bowls of cream

The rain won't stop!! Chris and I went to the lake today and watched the rain and listened to Blues and Bluegrass podcasts. We had lunch at The Village Greek in the Bend and got caught up on the gossip. Last night Bud and Mary had a Thanksgiving dinner at their place, serving us a free-range turkey cooked in Bud's backyard wood oven...Mmm. Jane had to work today, so I am cooking a roast. It is putting a nice smell in the apartment. All in all, a really pleasant fall weekend-praise God.

A1

Sanctuary

Here in our corner of the world we are enjoying the autumn season with it's beautiful colours. The van is sick with a leaky transmission. Linda is painting a floorcloth in the basement. Jane is proving once again her mastery at insulation and gap-filling around windows and doors. We have been enjoying the podcast "The Bluegrass Preservation Society" from West Virginia. Love, Pablo
