Blessed!

We now have the in-floor radiant hot water heat hooked up...next step is to install the hot water solar panels that are waiting patiently in the garage.

Jane's sister Kathy at the cottage. Note the insulation and vapour barrier...all ready to drywall!

Winter waited 'till February to come to this neck of the woods, but it didn't spare us any snow or wind. Our colds have run their course, and we're all feeling pretty spiffy.
Blessed...that's how we are! Praise God! If you're down right now, please meditate on this old Indian proverb: Nothing ever matters very much for very long.

Anniversary 28

Gabriela and her cousin Caitlin after a teeth whitening session!

Another busy weekend in the Stonetown. Jane and her brother and sisters left me alone to mind the St. Joseph's Convent on a cold February weekend while they went on a sibling weekend to the cottage. This was OK, as I had lots to do. Finally got around to cleaning the snow out of the driveway, cleaning the cat's litter box, and replacing the aging stereo amplifier and speakers. Now we're ready to rock! On Saturday night at the Legion in Stratford, our band was part of a benefit concert for the Casa Guatemala, an orphanage on the Rio Dulce in Guatemala. It was good to see people dancing to our songs. Jane and I both have terrible colds...I suppose it was bound to happen.

C-C-C-Cold!

Jane and I on our honeymoon. Cuzco, Peru, Febrero, 1979

It is cold! 18 degrees below with a strong west wind! It had to happen, here it is, and do you think that this Canadian boy is going to complain about it??? No- we are bred for this weather. Jane helped her sister Linda at the Stratford Museum's "Innkeeper's Dinner" at the Knox Church in Stratford last night, and I got to staple vapour barrier up at the cottage. I had to switch to the "new" Blogger- do you ever get tired of fillng out computer forms?

Willie Dixon - Seventh Son

Jane and I used to sneak into blues bars back when we were underage. I have never heard any music more powerful than Chicago blues played live. One night we were fortunate enough to catch Willie Dixon. Nice thing was, we got to chat with the band between sets...super bunch of fellas!
